COVID 19 Testing
Ashewell Medical Group is pleased to offer COVID 19 testing to the general public (age 5+).
We are currently performing rapid molecular PCR tests. Our tests are Abbott ID NOW RT- PCR. This is a nasal swab that provides results in 15 minutes.
We test people who are unwell, anyone with a sick contact, businesses, travelers or anyone who feels they need a COVID 19 PCR. We provide documentation/letter for travelers at the time of testing (15 minute turnover).
If you have had contact with someone who is COVID 19 positive, but you are asymptomatic, we recommend waiting until day 5-6, post-exposure for accurate testing. We recommend quarantine until you receive a negative test.
Cost of testing?

Prices are for testing done during our testing hours. Rapid testing may be offered outside of scheduled business hours IF AVAILABLE by request. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Price upon request.

What is ABBOTT Testing?
“The Abbott ID NOW COVID-19 test is an automated, molecular point-of-care test that is used to diagnose coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) within minutes, allowing healthcare professionals to make clinical decisions during a patient visit.”
THIS IS AN RT-PCR.
- An unvaccinated individual who has a close contact/ known exposure (has been within 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer of someone known to have COVID-19 within a 24 hour period) and tests negative must still complete a 14-day quarantine. Vaccinated individuals with a negative test do not have to quarantine.
- State and CDC guidelines for isolation should be followed until results of confirmatory testing can guide return to work, school and activities outside your home.
- Due to demand and limited supplies, Ashewell may not have rapid tests available until another shipment is received.
