We are excited to announce that we will now be offering a complementary yoga class each Friday for patients of Ashewell Medical Group.

Yoga is a mind and body practice which promotes wellness for people of all ages and fitness levels.

When I was a resident it was common to work an 80 hour week. The work hours were brutal and everyday was filled with issues of life and death. Yoga gave me a way to cope with the strain of being a new resident physician which I have carried with me all these years. In times when I have needed to focus on my own wellness I always return to yoga as a endless source of compassion for myself. In giving myself the goodness of yoga, I find I have even more of myself to give to others.

Lucky for me, my mother, Christine Davidson Bohrer, long ago embraced yoga as her path. She is a certified yogi and has experience teaching all ages and fitness levels.

She wrote the following introduction for our patients, “Yoga is the union of all, body, mind and spirit. “Ha” means the sun, and “tha” means the moon. The teacher simply meets you where you are, regardless of your background, with a focus on alignment and breath in movement. The goal is well being and equanimity, which we explore together in the spirit of curiosity and discovery on each individual journey. Bring your mat, a blanket, and blocks if you have them. Offered in Service.”

Whether you are an experienced yogi or newbie we hope you will join us Fridays from 9:30-10:30am at Ashewell Medical Group. Additionally, our RN and resident nutrition aficionado, Kelsey will be sharing her tips on juicing for health, and will even have some juice to share!
